Welcome to the new web portal of the Invertebrate Collection of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM-INVCOL). Our rapidly growing Collection includes some 160,000 specimens of invertebrates, primarily insects, with a regional emphasis on Puerto Rico and surrounding islands. The Collection was initiated in the mid 1920s and has been subject to a major, federally funded reorganization and digitization since 2008. The Collection is maintained by the Department of Biology of the Mayagüez Campus and is physically located both in the New Biology Building and the Entomology Laboratory (Ramos Collection).

The Collection is openly accessible to national and international researchers, students, and anyone interested in Caribbean and Neotropical invertebrates. We encourage you to explore the links on the main menu to learn more about our activities and how you can participate.
