Curriculum Vitae

Synopsis - I joined the insect systematics & evolution lab of the Biology Department at UPRM in January 2008. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Antioquia, and have conducted undergraduate thesis research towards a revision of the subfamily Parandrinae (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in Colombia. My research currently focuses on the systematics and natural history of weevils in the tribe Acalyptini (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), a lineage with close relationships to certain groups of monocot host plants. For my M.Sc. research project at UPRM I have described 15 new species on a new genus which is the sister group to Staminodeus Franz.
